About ReadBanyan

Why we started ReadBanyan.

A whole generation of children speak their mother tongue fluently — and can’t read a single line of it.

Their families moved to Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad or Delhi. School is in English. The home script never made it onto the page. ReadBanyan exists to change that: to help children who already speak Odia or Bengali learn to read it — live, with a real teacher, in six gentle weeks. We’re starting India-first, with Odia and Bengali, and growing the way a banyan does — roots first.

What makes us different

Not an app. A teacher who hears your child read.

Live teachers, not a recording

Every class is taught live by a real teacher who listens to each child read aloud and gently corrects them — the one thing an app can never do.

Tiny groups of ten

Batches are capped at ten children, so every learner is seen, heard and encouraged — never lost in a crowd.

A real six-week arc

Letters → matras → words → sentences → reading aloud, in the order that makes reading click — ending in a graduation with a named certificate.

Built for heritage families

Made for English-medium kids who speak the language at home but never learned the script — so the mother tongue doesn’t skip a generation.

So the mother tongue doesn’t skip a generation.

Give your child a real teacher, a tiny group, and a finish line they’ll be proud of.
