Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ReadBanyan (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your information when you visit readbanyan.com or enrol in our reading courses. Please read it alongside our Cookie Policy.

1. Who we are

ReadBanyan provides live, teacher-led courses that help children, teens and adults learn to read their mother tongue (currently Odia and Bengali). You can reach us on WhatsApp at +91 88282 13266 or by email at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run a class and reply to you:

  • Details you send us when you enquire or enrol — typically a parent’s or learner’s name, the child’s age, your city or timezone, and your WhatsApp number.
  • Basic technical data your browser shares (see our Cookie Policy).

We do not collect payment card details on this website, and we do not run advertising trackers.

3. How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and help you choose a batch.
  • To run the course — scheduling, the class WhatsApp group, and issuing your completion certificate.
  • To send you occasional updates about your batch (you can opt out anytime).

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We use a few trusted services to deliver the course — for example Zoom (live classes), WhatsApp (daily practice and messaging), and our website host. These providers process data only to provide their service.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep enrolment and contact details only for as long as needed to run your course and for our records, and then delete them. You may ask us to delete your data sooner — see our User Data Deletion page.

6. Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

We handle personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Visitors from outside India may also have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR.

7. Grievance & contact

For any question or complaint about your data, contact us on WhatsApp at +91 88282 13266 or by email at [email protected]. We will respond as required under the DPDP Act 2023.

8. Cookies

We use minimal, mostly essential cookies. Full details, and how to control them, are in our Cookie Policy.

9. Children’s data

Our children’s courses are bought and managed by a parent or guardian, who provides any details about the child. We collect only what is needed to teach the child (such as first name and age) and never more. A parent may ask us to review or delete their child’s data at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service grows. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest revision.
