Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how ReadBanyan (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on readbanyan.com. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They help a site work properly, remember your choices, and understand how it is used. Some cookies are set by us; others are set by the services we rely on.

2. How ReadBanyan uses cookies

ReadBanyan is a small, simple website and we keep cookies to a minimum:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Set by WordPress and our hosting (including our LiteSpeed caching) to keep the site secure, remember basic preferences, and load pages quickly. The website cannot function properly without these, so they cannot be switched off in our systems.
  • Analytics cookies. We do not currently use analytics cookies. If, in future, we add a tool such as Google Analytics to understand which pages help parents most, we will list it here and ask for your consent first.
  • Advertising / marketing cookies. We do not use advertising or ad-tracking cookies, and we do not sell your personal data.

3. Third-party services

A few features rely on trusted third parties, which may set their own cookies or receive your request when you use them:

  • Google Fonts — our pages load fonts from Google to display our brand typography.
  • WhatsApp — our “Save a seat” buttons open a chat on WhatsApp. Once you are on WhatsApp, that service’s own privacy and cookie policies apply.

We currently embed no social-media widgets, video players, or advertising trackers.

4. Managing your cookies

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or remove them under Settings → Privacy. Helpful guides are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

5. Your rights

We handle any personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). You may ask us what personal data we hold about you and request that it be corrected or deleted. If you visit from outside India, additional local laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR) may also give you rights over your data.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our website changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent revision.
